Both MCA and MBA are affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow and are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
The Curriculum – MCA
The Institute follows the curriculum of U.P. Technical University. The MCA programme is of six semesters spread over a period of three years.
We follow the curriculum and evaluation scheme of U.P. Technical University. It is a two-year course with 4 semesters.
Major and Minor Specialization:
A candidate will opt for specialization in any two groups listed above (A, B, C, D and E) to be known as major specialization and minor specialization. For major specialization a candidate will have to offer all the four papers from a group. For minor specialization a candidate will have to offer two papers, one from III semester and the other from IV semester from a group other than the group opted for major specialization.
LATERAL ENTRY (Two Year Course):
A candidate who has obtained a graduation of B.Sc. (C.S.), B.Sc. (IT) or BCA is eligible for direct admission to Second year course of 3 year MCA.
Attendance Policy: More than 90% attendance is compulsory. SHIMT wants to inculcate discipline and a regular work-culture in its students.
SHIMT practices a continuous evaluation system to monitor performance and to provide feedback to the students for self-improvement. Sessional marks are granted only on the basis of set criteria. The students have to be regular in their tutorials, class tests, practical and assignments.
Training Beyond Curriculum:
Formal classroom sessions are supplemented with frequent guest lectures. Seminars, quiz competitions, work shops, panel discussions etc. are arranged so that the students are well aware of the latest developments in Industry and I.T. Profession. Special classes will be arranged for students who want to improve their communication skills especially in English Language.
Training and Placement:
Students are encouraged to take up training programmes during summer vacations. The Institute is in constant contact with reputed companies and firms and arrange for the final semester training and project. There is a placement cell in the Institute, which arranges placement programmes and helps the students for their placement.
Students are encouraged to take up co curricular activities by forming cultural, arts, science and computer clubs. They are also motivated to interact with the neighbouring communities through various socially useful activities.
